Darla Smith had to sue the hospital just to get ivermectin for her husband — and even after a judge issued an order allowing it, the hospital resisted for hours.
On September 28, 2026, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson led a roundtable discussion titled “CV-19 Hospital Protocols: Real Stories from Real People.”

Darla Smith testified about what happened to her husband, Keith Smith.
Keith was 52 years old, active and healthy before being hospitalized with CV-19 in November 2021. Darla said Keith did not want to be intubated, but after being strongly pressured by hospital staff, he agreed.
“That was the last time I heard his voice.”
Within days of ventilation, Keith went from having healthy organs to requiring dialysis while receiving powerful sedatives, blood-pressure medications, antibiotics and pain medications.
On November 29, Darla sued the hospital for the right to administer ivermectin. A court order was issued on December 3 allowing its administration.
Darla testified that when they attempted to carry out the court order the next day, the hospital blocked them for approximately eight hours and called the police.
She later received a disturbing message reportedly from someone working inside the hospital:
“So between you and I… I fear that the hospital will omit things to help this man survive, to try and prove that the ivermectin doesn’t work.”
Keith died on December 12, 2021.
“My husband entered that hospital alive, alert, and expecting medical treatment, and he never returned home.”
