RFK Jr: “A lot of people in this community get frustrated about the slowness in government, and a lot of them expected me to come in and make sense of this whole system and bring changes immediately that they saw as extraordinary urgencies. But the government moves slowly… If we were able to overcome it, we would have changed things on day one. But those would have been short-lived, and I would have been out of a job because I have to manage my agency competently, according to the law and according to procedures.” September 17, 2026 — Washington, D.C.: U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. delivered the keynote address at the “CHD in DC” conference hosted by Children’s Health Defense, an organization he previously helped lead. Kennedy used Thimerosal as an example, saying his 2014 book contained hundreds of studies and more than 1,000 references examining potential neurological and physical harms. He expected it to force change. “It didn’t even make a ripple.” Kennedy says HHS is now studying cumulative vaccine effects, adjuvants, pregnancy, autoimmune disease, autism and other neuro-developmental outcomes. He also pointed to research involving the DTP vaccine in Guinea-Bissau, arguing that serious harms can remain “hidden in plain sight” when surveillance is inadequate. “We’re documenting it scientifically, and then we will take appropriate action.”
