Carol Messenger, a former Vancouver Fire Rescue captain, testified at the Allison Inquiry about the spinal cord injury she says began less than four weeks after her second CV-19 VX.
Messenger said doctors diagnosed her with transverse myelitis after finding a five-centimetre lesion between T10 and T11. She continues to live with loss of sensation, bladder dysfunction, muscle spasms and nerve pain.
Her neurologist later told her to apply to Canada’s VX Injury Support Program because she had suffered a “very, very significant spinal cord injury.”
