The Maddie de Garay case is one of the most disturbing examples of corruption and failure of accountability during the pandemic. Maddie was just 12 years old when she participated in Pfizer’s CV-19 VX trial for adolescents. According to her mother, after her second dose Maddie developed severe chest, abdominal and body pain, went to the ER three times in one week, and later became unable to walk independently. Her mother says that despite Maddie being an actual participant in Pfizer’s clinical trial, neither Pfizer, the FDA nor the CDC ever contacted the family about what happened to her.
